Essential Job Duties:
• Above all, hold HESS Objectives and principles as primary guiding principles.
• Support the Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives. Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction activities as requested. Look for opportunities to be the 'fresh set of eyes' in this area.
• Follow all applicable HESS procedures.
• Follow all applicable specific work and plant procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on flow, temperature, pressure, level and analytical equipment at prescribed intervals. Zero, calibrate and check for pluggage.
• Diagnose problem with instrument or process condition. Develop and Communicate issues, status and path forward.
• Repair instruments per vendor documentation. Check process connections for pluggage or obstruction. Calibrate instrument per specifications. Return equipment back to service. Loop check instrument back to the control room. Tune loop if necessary.
• Utilize SAP for spares, history and scheduling. Be able to write, plan, schedule, execute and close work orders. Help maintain and update EIS electronic files plus instrument files in the shop.
• Check operation of DCS equipment versus programmed information. Program, troubleshoot, and repair problems diagnosed. Use PLC interface and documents to troubleshoot plant shutdown systems.
• Identify work process or system problems and work towards a solution.
• Document PM’s results in an accurate concise manner.
• Troubleshoot instrument problems and consult directly with instrument equipment vendors on problems for resolution.
• Perform periodic field inspections of instrumentation. Write notifications on findings.
• Mechanical integrity PM work order close out.
• Successful candidate will be required to take weekend duty with a pager (and not allowed refusal of this overtime).
• Keep shop, tools and work area picked up and clean. Maintain prints and files in proper place.

Required Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Instrumentation and three years experience in an industrial environment or five years experience working in industrial instrumentation.
• Self directed highly motivated individual with proven track record of success working stand alone tasks and/or projects

Additional Desired Qualifications:
Have working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft EXCEL along with general PC skills
